This morning the City of Seattle informed a federal court that it has reached a settlement agreement with a group of business and property owners that had sued the city over damage done during the CHOP in June and July of 2020. No terms of the agreement have been announced yet; apparently the formal settlement agreement is still being written by the lawyers, though it is expected to be completed by March 10 when the parties will formally ask for the case to be dismissed.
Last month the judge hearing the case issued a ruling that significantly narrowed the case by rejecting several of the plaintiffs’ claims.
